Petition For Swift International Diplomatic Action In Tibet
I don’t get political very often, but this is something I’ve always felt very strongly about. Especially with the growing global significance of the Occupy movements, I feel like now is the time to take action and care.
The largest county in Alabama just filed for bankruptcy and the Greek economy could be on the verge of collapse, but the people of Tibet need help too. People may be occupying the streets elsewhere, but Buddhist monks are taking their own lives, a violation of first precept of their religion, a serious karmic violation.
We might have problems, but we have the freedom of religion. Our country defends the right to protest military funerals and bully kids based upon religious practices, why can’t the international community help protect the rights of one of the most peaceful, tolerant religions?
Even if this petition doesn’t accomplish anything, at least support it, re-post it and help it garner some international attention.
